Kruger National Park 27-31 May 2004 |
| We decide that the ideal
place to celebrate my birthday would be in the Kruger National Park, so
early Friday morning the 28th we headed East and arrived at the new Phabeni
gate midmorning and headed towards Berg-en-Dal camp where we would spend the
first night. This time we decided to do things slightly differently and were
going to actually make note of our sightings. We usually just drive by
the wildlife, take pics and carry on again.
We also started recording our bird sightings on the Robert's program on the laptop, We didn't record every bird sighting, just the larger birds and started off our list with 36 sightings. On Saturday morning we headed out to Crocodile camp, stopped at Lower Sabie and then headed up to Skukuza where we were going to stay Saturday and Sunday evenings. On Sunday evening we went on a sunset game drive . A friendly tip, dress WARMLY, it can get freezing cold on the open vehicle, even in summer time. Early Monday morning we hit the road again and arrived back home at midday! We have booked to go to Kruger again over Christmas, but might even go camping there when it gets warmer again. below are some of the pics I took, please click for a larger version and mouse over the thumbnail for a description. |
